1. God is Spirit:

The Lord Jesus said to the Samaritan woman:

"God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:24).

God is a simple Spirit, entirely free from materiality. He is therefore exalted above the attributes of matter, such as limitation, locality, or divisibility. God is not physical, and thus does not fall into the categories of gender, male or female.

At a specific point in time, God took on a true human body, Jesus Christ, to accomplish the salvation of humanity. Yet, God remains the One who fills the heavens and the earth. He is present everywhere, at all times, fully and completely. As it is written in the bible:

"The fullness of Him who fills all in all" (Ephesians 1:23).

A simple analogy to this is the sun, which enters both your house and mine, shines over my city and yours, and everywhere radiates its power and warmth. It dispels darkness, provides heat, and purifies from germs and microbes, yet remains one sun high above in the heavens.

2. God is Eternal:

God is eternal, meaning He has no beginning and no end. He is without a start to His existence and without an end to it.

As the psalmist says in the bible:

"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God" (Psalm 90:2).

As god declares in the bible:

"I am the First and I am the Last" (Isaiah 48:12),

"I am the Alpha and the Omega" (Revelation 1:8).

3. God is the Creator of All Things:

"For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens, who is God, who formed the earth and made it" (Isaiah 45:18).

"Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: 'I am the Lord, who makes all things, who stretches out the heavens all alone, who spreads abroad the earth by Myself'" (Isaiah 44:24).

4. God is Loving and Just:

"God’s essence is love" (1 John 4:8). He desires a personal relationship with humanity, and His justice ensures fairness and accountability for all actions.

The relationship between the human and God should be built on love

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)

5. God is Immutable:

Has God’s knowledge increased in these times compared to before creation? Certainly not.

Does God’s power diminish over the years? Certainly not.

Does His beauty increase or decrease over time? Certainly not.

God’s knowledge, power, beauty, and all His attributes are constant and unchanging. They do not improve because He is absolute perfection, nor do they diminish because He is unchangeable as written in the bible:

"With whom there is no variation or shadow of turning" (James 1:17).

6. God is Almighty:

As written in the bible: God said to Abraham:

"I am Almighty God" (Genesis 17:1).

"Is anything too hard for the Lord?" (Genesis 18:14).

Jacob said to Joseph:

"God Almighty appeared to me" (Genesis 48:3).

His power is evident in His creation of the magnificent universe and in the creation of humanity in His image and likeness. How marvelous and wondrous is humanity! Humanity is a microcosm of creation. Consider even one organ of the human body, like a single kidney. Its function of purifying blood requires an array of systems and machines to replicate, showcasing God’s incredible power and greatness.

7. God is Sovereign Over All:

God governs all things in heaven and on earth:

"Whatever the Lord pleases, He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deep places" (Psalm 135:6).

God always care about everyone God’s care extends even to the hairs of our heads:

"But the very hairs of your head are all numbered" (Matthew 10:30).

As the Sovereign of all, nothing, big or small, happens without His command or permission. Some may question why evil, disasters, and crimes occur. Do they happen by His will or without it? This topic is to be discussed in another booklet but briefly The truth is that there is a difference between God’s will and His allowance or permission.

8. God is All-Knowing:

God listens to everyone & knows everything

As the psalmist says in the bible:

"He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see?" (Psalm 94:9).

"There is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account" (Hebrews 4:13).

For God, all time is present. There is no past or future for Him—everything is revealed before Him from the beginning of creation to the end of time.

God is not......

God does not reject sinners; rather, He loves them and wishes for their repentance.

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)

God is not domineering and respects the human’s will he forces no one into following him.

"For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another" (Galatians 5:13)

God is not angry, and He has no hatred or wrath.

"The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation" (Exodus 34:6-7)
